HOW IT ALL STARTED.
Our President had an idea some time ago to arrange a luncheon for all retired staff in Hampshire, and with a little help from his friends it was set up.
It was very successful and just grew and grew, becoming a regular event, until it was too big for just a few people to organise, so on the 3rd of February 2003 a committee was set up to run the group and was given the initials R.A.P. (Retired Ambulance Personnel).
We arrange three lunch parties a year, at various venues within Hampshire, and all members receive a copy of our magazine Rapport, all for just £9 a year.
We maintain a good relationship with South Central Ambulance Service who give us their support. Three members of our committee are also trustees of the South Central Ambulance Service (incorporating Hampshire Ambulance Service) Benevolent Fund, a fund which is set up to be able to provide support to fund members in times of need.
HOW TO JOIN.
Membership is open to all retired or previous serving ambulance staff. Fees are just £9 for the year and for this members receive the RAPPORT magazine three times a year, have the opportunity to meet up at organised luncheons 3 times a year as well as being kept informed of other social events and things of interest.
If you would like to join please email Pierre LeCras, Secretary lecraspierre@gmail.com for an application form.
