Transit Cab Layout.
Here we have some of the new technology found in a 2010 Ford Transit front-line Ambulance.
Top centre is the Command & Control System Vehicle Display Screen. Crew operation is by touch control.
Below the heater controls you will find the mains VHF 'Airwave' radio, which together with the mobile phone provides hands free communications.
Below these we have the battery support controls and the Genisys key pad, which is the main actuation point for all the vehicle emergency lighting and audible warning systems.
Below the Genisys is the vehicle in-car entertainment unit (Radio/CD), which can be switched to speakers fitted in the saloon.
At the very bottom of the centre console is the YAESU digitally trunked radio system (with PABX interface facility) and UHF repeater for local crew (hand-portable) communications.
