Hanlon Ambulance ROR 233S.
The main problem with Ambulance construction is to decide where to site the stretcher cot with regard to the wheel arch (rear axle). Different characteristics of comfort/road holding are to be experienced with both short and long wheelbase models. Here we see 'Hantsam 307' a short wheelbase front-line Ambulance. The short wheelbase model (fitted with a 4-wheel rear axle) generally meant better road holding at the sacrifice of some patient comfort. The long wheelbase model (fitted with a 2-wheel rear axle) generally meant better patient comfort but manouverablity and road holding suffered somewhat.
