This photo was taken one summer evening at Basingstoke Ambulance Station in the late 1960's.
The station was at the back of The Shrubbery Maternity Unit, where we had one room which was office, staff room and store.
Later we had the luxury of having a mobile home, parked on the edge of The Shrubbery garden, as staff rest room.
A bit of history about the vehicle that may be of interest; it was the prototype for the Morris LDO series, later converted to LD when the diesel engines were replaced with petrol.
The second LDO from Wadhams, which I believe was eventually based at Winchester, appeared at the motor show Earls Court, and had a plaque under the stretcher gear to commemorate this.
Thanks to Roy Parker for the photo.
