Various Items .
Various items including, blood sample containers in the form of a 'EDTA blood count' and 'ABO x match and save' bottles (essential as Dextran 70 affected the cross matching process), and also a Mk1 Ambu and a 'Ruben's valve' used with the Ambu-bag.
There were not many of the 'Ruben's type carried, they were supplied as the 505F pattern Ambu-bag. However, they were not standard fittings, and a silver adapter or sleeve (seen in same photo) was required to connect to the bag to the catheter mount; for ventilation. The 1" bandage was used for securing the E/T tube in place.
Also, in the same photo, note the Johnson's 'Mucus Extractor'. Putting your mouth on something connected to a patient, albeit not the same part, would be a definite NO NO nowadays. Filters are commonly used between disposable (patient contact items) and non-disposable ambulance equipment.
Take the 'Ambu bag' for instance, these are now 'single use' and disposed of after every job! How's that for advancement, from the day's when we might change a pillow case, but only if it really looks as if we need too!
