Rowley and Friends.

I think this was a Control Course at Claylands, possible around 1976 / 77.

This would have been before Rowley transferred to Hampshire, he was serving with Wiltshire Ambulance Service at the time this picture was taken.

In 1976 Portsmouth Control was re-structured with 5 x (R5 Three pip) Control Superintendent's (most were existing Control Officers) - 5 x (R6 two pip) Control Officers (most were ex PAS Sub-officers) and 2 x (R7 one pip) Control Sub Officers.

Ron Parsons (2nd in from the right) came 'off the road' and got one of these posts and the other was taken by Les Squires (L/A) from Fareham Station. Les was ex PAS before he transferred to Fareham sometime in 1960-1.
